We did not play through a Sim day in live mode with the mods enabled yet.Though if your going to enable recolor for these, I suggest looking at how the Female and Male Plantsim Hairs from University Life have the colors arranged, because these could easily function as extra hair choices for the Plantsims. Using cheats, we forwarded six Sim days ahead and our Sim volunteer remained as a PlantSim. Sims also reverted to not being PlantSims if we used the CAS full-edit option to modify the household. But kept all our other mods in place and did not test any further.
